Hearst Castle

This place was a real life fairy tale castle. On the drive up, you see it hidden in the mountains, like a tiny little place, but when you step inside its a real masterpiece.

We even saw zebras on the way up!

That same evening they were hosting a private event and you could even swim in a pool made of marble! imagine...how glamorous.

Old Hollywood use to stay here. William Hurst use to love having company, and he would host the most amazing and elaborate parties.

You can take up to 3 tours, it also depends in the time of year. The one we took took us indoors, outdoors through the gardens, and we also got to see the spectacular indoor pool.

I would suggest going in the Spring or Summer when its not overcast, and since the castle is high, it can get pretty cold. There is also a karaoke bar where an 80 year old Elvis impersonator will keep you entertained for a night out in the town.

oh yes..remember kids... don't forget to shut the blinds.

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

Probably one of my favorite photos from the road stops

Stopped at a little diner on our way up north. Had brunch, pretty much the best meal of the day, took some awesome photographs, and made our waitress laugh.

Driving along the beautiful Pacific Ocean, north of Santa Barba

OH YES! who can forget the football lesson I was given on a napkin as I patiently waited for my bacon and eggs. I would add a mimosa, but this wasn't the place for such requests.

TV dinners

One of my favorite things to do is order take out, watch TV and do nothing.

Saturday mornings

We figured out we both loved the idea of being healthy and fit.

Our Saturday morning routines became hiking to the Hollywood sign and back. Approx 6 miles. (We don't mess around)
We became so obsessed that no one could stop us from buying hikers pack. a.k.a: hicking fanny-packs that hold your crap and keep you hydrated.

On our way up, there isn't much talking, mostly whining about the incline, how hot it is, and how lovely the horse poo smells. We take probably two breaks on our way up, quick 2 min breaks to drink water and catch our breath.

By the time I get to the bottom of the last hill, right before the Hollywood sign, I get very competitive and decide I want to run it. (not always works out)

The view from the very top, actually behind the sign is amazing. We usually stay up there for 10 minutes. Enjoy the view, hug and kiss.

On our way down, we munch on Beef Jerky, I prefer Turkey Jerky but whatever...I should just say, we snack on the Trader Joe's pantry we carry in our hiker packs.

And this is the time where Mr. Wolf confides in me with his writings. We talk back and forth about his screenplays, the characters, who they are and what they're all about. I think he's developed quite a few ideas on our downward hike...

Catching up is hard to do

I created this blog a while ago, but today, maybe because its Valentine's Day I am feeling a sudden rush to catch up the blog to my current relationship status with Mr. Wolf: happy & in love.

There are still all the summer adventures to post! Stay tuned...
